Dutch writing practice (Schrijven): free mock exam (A2)
In the writing part (Schrijven) you write short texts you also need in real life: an email to a teacher or a colleague, a form, and a short text, for example for the neighbourhood paper.
Each task says what you have to write about. You write in full sentences. Some details you may make up yourself, like a date or a reason.

Task 1
U bent lid van sportschool Fit Zuiderveen. U gaat volgende maand verhuizen naar een andere stad. U wilt uw abonnement stoppen. U schrijft een e-mail aan de sportschool.
Schrijf dat u uw abonnement wilt stoppen.
Schrijf per welke datum u wilt stoppen. Bedenk zelf een datum.
Schrijf waarom u gaat verhuizen. Bedenk het zelf.
Vraag om een bevestiging per e-mail.

You are a member of a gym and you are moving to another city next month. You want to cancel your membership. Write an email to the gym: say you want to stop, from which date (make one up), why you are moving (make it up), and ask for a confirmation by email. Write in full sentences.
Ik ben al twee jaar lid van uw sportschool. Mijn lidnummer is 20417. Ik wil mijn abonnement graag stoppen. Ik wil per 1 november stoppen. Ik ga verhuizen, want ik heb een nieuwe baan in Eindhoven gekregen. Kunt u mij een bevestiging per e-mail sturen? Alvast bedankt voor uw hulp.

Task 2
U krijgt elke week een wijkkrant. Iedereen uit de buurt mag iets voor deze krant schrijven. Deze week gaat de krant over hobby's. U schrijft over uw hobby.
Schrijf minimaal drie zinnen op. Denk aan: - Wat is uw hobby? - Wanneer en waar doet u uw hobby? - Waarom vindt u uw hobby leuk?

You get a neighbourhood paper every week and anyone may write something for it. This week it is about hobbies. Write about your hobby: what it is, when and where you do it, and why you like it. Write at least three full sentences.

Reparatieverzoek huurwoning · Zuiderveen Wonen
U huurt een woning. In uw huis zijn twee problemen. Kijk naar de plaatjes. U wilt dat een monteur komt. Vul het formulier in. Sommige gegevens moet u zelf bedenken.
You rent a home. There are two problems in your house. Look at the pictures. You want a repairman to come. Fill in the form. You have to make up some of the details yourself.
De kraan lekt al drie dagen. Er komt ook water door het plafond.
Wat hebt u zelf al gedaan?
Ik heb een emmer onder het plafond gezet. Ik heb de kraan goed dichtgedraaid.
Writing tips
Cover every point in the task. List them and tick them off as you write.
Open and close politely: "Beste meneer" or "Hallo Sanne" at the start, "Met vriendelijke groet" or "Groetjes" at the end. Choose formal or informal depending on who it is.
Write short, correct sentences. A short sentence without mistakes beats a long one with mistakes.
Allowed to make something up? Then any answer is fine as long as it fits the task. Just invent a date or a reason.
Read your text once more. Check capital letters, full stops and the spelling of numbers and dates.
